New: AZ Data now serves schema context to any MCP client — Claude Code, Cursor, and more. See how it works

Open roles in Baku

Three roles open right now — all based at 44 Jafar Jabbarli Street, Baku

Founding backend engineer

Own the DDL poller and MCP server end to end

Baku · Full-time

What you'll do

  • Design and run the DDL poller: hash-diffing INFORMATION_SCHEMA on a 1–5 minute cadence without hammering customer accounts
  • Build and maintain the MCP server that serves schema context to agents
  • Own the Git publishing path — Markdown, OKF, and graph output committed to customer repos
  • Set the engineering defaults: testing, on-call, observability, release process

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years building production backend services (Python or Go)
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse
  • Comfortable owning a service end-to-end, from design to on-call
  • Clear written communication — most of our design work happens in docs

Nice to have: prior work on MCP, LSP, or similar structured-protocol servers; dbt or Airflow internals; a startup or founding-team stint.

Developer advocate

Write docs, build demos, talk to early customers

Baku · Full-time

What you'll do

  • Own the public docs, quickstarts, and the MCP server reference
  • Build demos against real Snowflake accounts and run them on calls and at meetups
  • Write the blog: specific, technical, fact-dense posts that earn citations
  • Feed what you hear from early customers straight back into the roadmap

What we're looking for

  • Experience writing technical documentation or developer-facing content
  • Comfortable presenting to technical audiences (webinars, calls, conferences)
  • Some hands-on SQL / data engineering background
  • Azerbaijan work authorization, or willingness to relocate to Baku

Nice to have: a public body of work (blog, talks, open-source docs); familiarity with the data catalog space; Azerbaijani, Turkish, or Russian.

Customer success engineer

Help design partners get value in week one

Baku · Full-time

What you'll do

  • Run onboarding for design partners: Snowflake role setup, Git connection, first sync
  • Debug pipeline and permission issues alongside customer data teams
  • Turn recurring support questions into docs and product fixes
  • Be the customer's voice in weekly product reviews

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a technical customer-facing role (CS, solutions engineering, or support)
  • Comfortable reading DDL and debugging pipeline issues with customers
  • Excellent written English
  • Calm under pressure — you'll often be the first person a customer calls

Nice to have: Snowflake access-control experience (roles, key-pair auth); additional Nordic/Baltic languages; prior B2B SaaS onboarding work.
